Coeur d’Epine

Our final year’s project (2011-2012) at Supinfogame.

Coeur d’Epine is a 3D real-time game which take place in the french countryside in the 50′s. Coeur d’Epine, who is a nice and handsome boy has disappeared before the ball and a spirit is born from his fiancee emotions to search him. You’ll embody this spirit and will discover the village secret, spying conversations and walking through memories only by jumping from one person to another.

I was in charge of the art direction and by extension all 2D assets. I also make the textures for all the characters in the ball.

Preproduction:

Photoshop. First concept art, working on the body silhouette of the characters which were supposed to be exaggerated (large hips for women, big nose etc).

Photoshop.  Expression sheet of the rival of Coeur d’Epine. At this part of the production we were really inspired by Pr Layton’s chara designs which make really easy to figure the personality of the  characters.

Photoshop.  Model sheet of the bar. We have made the model sheet reusable for texturing in order to spare time once the batiment has been modeled.
